For many years, our co-founders independently pursued various lines of research related to plant cell cultures and the development of genetic engineering tools to optimize plant cell lines. Each of them carried a personal passion and a deep conviction that a paradigm shift in the food industry is necessary if we aspire to a more sustainable and animal-friendly world.
In 2019, during a casual conversation, our co-founders began to realize that the skills they had developed individually could be transformed into a disruptive solution for what they were collectively passionate about. It was at this moment that they decided to start designing and dreaming about a project of applied innovation, entirely focused on creating delicious and sustainable ingredients through plant cell cultivation.
In the year 2020, ERGO was born with the pre-seed investment from CITES, with the mission of unlocking the full potential of plant cell cultivation to produce the most sustainable, delicious, and groundbreaking ingredients.
In 2023, we have grown into a beautiful family of 12 passionate scientists dedicated to innovation and biotechnology. ERGO's journey continues with even greater enthusiasm and a shared commitment to creating a more sustainable and animal-friendly world through our groundbreaking work.
